On the photo above uyou can see what
use to be a kitchen garden
and it will be again…some day ..

Op de foto hierboven zie je
wat ooit de moestuin was,
en dat zal het ook ooit wel weer worden
…Ooit…

On the right side of the top photo
is growing something I don’t regonize
it is a kind of purple and look how
pretty up close…

  Aan de rechtse kant op de bovenste foto
staat een plant/onkruid/kruid,
een beetje paarse pluimenachtig
Ik heb geen idee wat het is maar het is prachtig

~Poem Forget Me not Fairy

Where do fairy babies lie
Till they're old enough to fly?
Here's a likely place, I think,
'Mid these flowers, blue and pink,
(pink for girls and blue for boys:
Pretty things for babies' toys!)
Let us peep now, gently. Why,

Fairy baby, here you lie!
Kicking there, with no one by,
baby dear, how good you lie!
All alone, but, you're not -
You could never be - forgot!
O how glad I am I've found you,
With Forget-me-nots around you,
Blue, the colour of the sky!
Fairy baby, Hushaby!

~Beatrix Potter Rose

roselaunch
The Beatrix Potter™ rose, sponsored by
The Beatrix Potter Society and grown by
Peter Beales Roses, Norfolk, was launched at the
RHS Chelsea flower Show on 24 May 2010 to
celebrate the Society’s 30th Birthday.
The rose is a delicate creamy pink coloured shrub rose
with a subtle fragrance, reflecting a rose which
Beatrix Potter herself painted.

BEATRIX POTTER ROSE

Helen Bertram, newly elected chairman of the
Beatrix Potter Society and its Patron, actress
Patricia Routledge, admire the new rose ‘Beatrix Potter’
which was launched at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.

Helen, from Solihull, runs Whitecroft Tours which
specialises in bespoke traditional crafting and
heritage tours. To celebrate her appointment she
is organising a ‘Painting with Potter’ break this October
in the Lake District, where the Peter Rabbit creator lived.

In the news:
One of the world's leading rose growers is putting
the finishing touches to their display at next week's
Chelsea Flower Show where they will be
unveiling three new beautiful blooms.
Former gold award winner Peter Beales Roses,
based in Attleborough, will be introducing its most
recent creations on Monday in what is believed to be
the company's 35th year of exhibiting at the renowned show.

This year it has produced varieties commemorating
the 100th birthday of the John Innes Centre,
in Norwich, the 30th anniversary of The
Beatrix Potter Society and the recent refurbishment of
the Church of the Notre Dame in Calais, France.

Rose breeder Amanda Beales said: “We're quite excited
about them. They're all special roses.
The Beatrix Potter is very beautiful, the John Innes
one is bright and vibrant which fits them and the
Notre Dame is a climber which is extremely healthy
and should look beautiful in the landscaping they're
doing there.”
The John Innes Centre, a leading institution in
plant sciences, did much research into rose genetics
during the 1960s and developed methods of reproducing
the flower commonly used today.
Its rose is cherry red around the outer edge of
the petals paling to cream in the centre.
A spokesman for the centre said: “We thought
a rose would be appropriate way to mark the John Innes'
centenary as it is a reminder of some of our past work
in this area when we held the National Rose Collection.”
He added: “When rose research ended in Norwich
the remaining parts of the rose collection were
passed to Peter Beales so it was a natural fit that
they should produce our centenary rose.”
The Beatrix Potter rose, a soft pink bloom packed
with petals, will be introduced at the show by
the society's patron actress Patricia Routledge,
who is best known for playing Hyacinth Bucket in
the sitcom Keeping Up Appearances.
The rose soon to be seen in the gardens of the Church
of Notre Dame is a delicate climber with
pale lemon petals and a sweet scent.

~Eerste oogst!

Recept:
Asperges met aardbeien (Voor 4 personen)

Ingrediënten :
500 g aardbeien
500 g witte asperges
een handje verse kervel

recept Voor de vinaigrette :

  • 6 eetlepels druivenpitolie
  • 3 eetlepels sherryazijn
  • 1 eetlepel vloeibare acaciahoning
  • zout
  • vers gemalen zwarte peper

Bereiding :
Pocheer de geschilde en kleingesneden asperges
5 minuten in kokend gezouten water en zorg
dat ze beetgaar blijven. Giet af, laat uitlekken en
afkoelen. Verdeel met de schoongemaakte en
gewassen aardbeien over schaaltjes of
dessertborden.

EET SMAKELIJK!!!

His name is Goatee, and he is 4 years old
The previous owners wanted to get rit of him
and
We were allowed to pick him up for free.

Goats prefer living in herds of at least 3
So I'm looking for a few ladies for him ...
ps. Goatee is castrated!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zijn naam is Goatee, en hij is 4 jaar oud
De vorige eigenaren wilden van hem af en
wij mochten ‘m gratis ophalen.
Geiten leven het liefst in kuddes van min. 3 stuks
dus ik zoek nog een paar dames voor hem…
ps. Goatee is gecastreerd!
MY LOVE FOR ANIMALS.
Animals are loyal,
loving and obedient.
Caring and affectionate,
Gorgeous as can be!
Animals are friends,
Best friends to me.
Always standing by you,
As willing as can be.
Always underestimated,
But still they exist.
Nothing will ever hurt them more,
Than hatred and mistrust.
Always there to talk to,
Although they don't reply.
You see it in their eyes,
And know that they'll stand by.
They save life's,
And help the blind.
But still we do not see,
That animals weren't made as slaves,
But as friends for you and me!!!
~Tijgertempel!
capt
In 1999 vonden de inwoners van een klein dorpje
van de provincie Kanchanaburi in Thailand in het bos
twee gewonde tijger baby's, waarvan de ouders
gedood waren door stropers.
tijgertempel
In 1999, the inhabitants of a small village
the Kanchanaburi province in Thailand found in the forest
two wounded tiger babies whose parents
were killed by poachers.
tijgertempel
Niet wetend wat ermee aan te vangen,
brachten ze hen naar de boeddhistische
tempel Wat Pha Luang waar ze opgevangen en
verzorgd werden door de monniken.
De "Tijgertempel" zag het daglicht.
tijgertempel
Not knowing what to do with those little tigers,
they brought them to the Buddhist temple
What Pha Luang.
tijgertempel
Sindsdien zijn talloze verweesde babytijgertjes
naar de tempel gebracht en opgevoed door de monniken.
De tijgers zijn getemd en gewend om alleen gekookt
vlees te eten om te vermijden dat ze de smaak
voor vers bloed zouden ontwikkelen.
Ze worden behandeld als familieleden van de tempel.
tijgertempel
Het is een plek die algemeen wordt beschouwd als
beschermd gebied voor deze dieren en een centrum
voor natuurbehoud. De tempel is open voor toeristen.
De werknemers houden de tijgers onder controle en
staan klaar om op te treden wanneer de tijgers
onrustig worden. De bezoekers worden uitgenodigd
om een gift achter te laten wanneer ze op de foto
willen met de tijgers. Dit is de enige plek op de aardbol
waar het mogelijk is om een tijger in vrijheid te aan te raken.
The Theravada Buddhist temple is located in the Saiyok
district of Thailand's Kanchanaburi province, not far
from the border with Myanmar, some 38 km
north-west of Kanchanaburi along the 323 highway.
It was founded in 1994 as a forest temple and
sanctuary for numerous wild animals.
In 1995 it received the Golden Jubilee Buddha
Image, made of 80 kilograms of gold.
The tigers are being fed with cooked chicken, beef
and dry cat food. The meat is boiled to avoid giving
the tigers a taste for blood and also to kill the bird flu
that may be present in raw fowl. According to the
temple website the dry cat food replaces nutrients,
such as taurine, that are lost when the meat is cooked.
tijgertempeltijgertempel tijgertempel
The tigers are washed and handled by Thai monks,
international volunteers and local staff.
Once a day they are walked on leashes to a nearby quarry.
Originally they would roam around freely in this area
but now, with the increase in visitors and the amount
of tigers who sit in the canyon, they are chained
for safety reasons. The staff closely guide visitors as
they greet, sit with, and pet the cats.
The staff keep the tigers under control and the abbot
will intervene if the tiger gets agitated.
Nervous tourists may also observe this from about
10 metres away. The temple claims the entry fee is
for feeding and upkeep, and to fund the building of a
larger tiger sanctuary which would allow the animals
to live in an almost natural environment all day long.
According to temple staff, it costs about 100 USD
per tiger per day for their feeding and other care.
