In the Caribbean, Vervet Monkeys have developed
a taste for alcohol and can regularly be spotted
stealing cocktails from humans on the beach.
Brilliant wildlife video from BBC animal show 'Weird Nature'.

The alcoholic distilled beverage (maroela mampoer)
made from the fruit is referenced in the stories of
the South African writer Herman Charles Bosman.
The Marula (Sclerocarya birrea), is a medium-sized
dioecious tree, indigenous to the miombo woodlands
of Southern Africa and the Sudano-Sahelian range
of West Africa. The tree is a single stemmed tree
with a wide spreading crown. It is characterised by a
grey mottled bark. The tree grows up to 18m tall mostly
in low altitudes and open woodlands.
The fruits are used in the liqueur Amarula.
Wisteria is a genus of flowering plants in the pea family,
Fabaceae, that includes ten species of woody climbing
vines native to the eastern United States and the
East Asian states of China, Korea, and Japan.
Wisteria vines climb by twining their stems either
clockwise or counter-clockwise round any available support.
They can climb as high as 20 m above ground and
spread out 10 m laterally.
The world's largest known Wisteria vine is located
in Sierra Madre, California, measuring more
than 1 acre (0.40 ha) in size and weighing 250 tons.
The photo’s are all from the Wisteria in our garden!
Wisteria oftewel Blauwe regen is een winterharde,
vrij sterk groeiende klimplant. De blauwe regen werd
vroeger onder kwekers “Glycine” genoemd.
De naam “Wisteria” is afkomstig van een
Amerikaans hoogleraar C. Wistar.

Enjoy this Lovely warm and sunny day!
Geniet van deze heerlijke warme dag!
Easter is a time of love,
of family, and of peace.
It is a time when we say
a quiet thanks for all that we have
and for all that the future holds.
Easter is a feeling in our hearts
of hope and faith and trust.
It is a day of miracles;
a day when our dreams seem a little closer;
a time of retrospection for what has been,
and anticipation of all that will be.
And it is a time for remembering
with love and appreciation
the people in our lives
who make a difference...
people like you.

Have a Great Easter Weekend!!!
Be brave. Even if you're not, pretend to be.
No one can tell the difference.
"A coward is incapable of exhibiting love;
it is the prerogative of the brave."

Lyrics; Wet Wet Wet
If Only I Could Be With You
And outside the wind is blowing
Through the thoughts in my mind
Thinking a feeling is growing
But inside my heart I'm alone
I have a heart, a heart for a woman
I have a promise, of this I will swear
And I have a love that won't be forgotten
I have a life that's going nowhere
I just wanna be with you
Hold you like I used to do, time after time, yeah
Give my heart and soul to you
And hold me if you wanted to
If only I could be with you
I am intrigued by the work created by Patrick Blanc
a french botanist and artist. We know all too well
the huge need for green spaces especially in urban
environments, he has a fantastic solution -
Vertical Gardens
www.verticalgardenpatrickblanc.com
Patrick Blanc overgrows the vertical surfaces of
buildings in the most beautiful way.
What he creates is far away from any fancy
horticultural show, his Vertical Garden could rather
be called eco-art, or greener architecture consisting
of a variety of plants trailing gently up any interior
or outside wall. Imagine the Hanging Gardens of ancient
Babylon but this time on modern concrete buildings.
But Patrick is not just simpy putting green on the walls
which last for a day or two: set up with a highly scientific
background he studies the many ways plants adapt
to extreme situations at the CNRS,
the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique
in Paris since 1982. Let’s have a closer look at
these organic wallpapers of botanist
Patrick Blanc today.

At 200 meters long and 12 metres tall,
this vertical garden is an impressive permanent
installation at the Musee du quai Branley in Paris.
The ‘living wall’ was designed and planted by
Patrick Blanc and forms the facade to the museum which was designed by enigmatic French architect Jean Nouvel.
