~Rare Breed?

Sometimes I think we have a rare kind of breed!
See for yourself, What do you think?
Maybe descendants of a treegoat? hihihi

Have an Enchanting Sunday!

~Again Little Ducklings

I had today a Surprice Attack
Our Duck Mijntje has hatched 7 Ducklings,
And REMY is the Father, again!

I can not take pictures yet,
Mijntje won’t allow me to…
so above is a picture from her last nest in May

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Onze muskuseend Mijntje heeft weer kuikentjes,
tjonge, dat was een verrassing,
ze had een nieuw nestje gemaakt met 16 eitjes
en daarom hadden wij de meeste eitjes er
weer uitgehaald en weggegooid,
zodat ze er maar een 3tal overhield, dus de verrassing
was groot toen ik vanmorgen
7 stuks kleine pluizebolletjes zag rondlopen ;o)
Ik mag van moeders nog geen foto’s maken
dus vandaar alvast een foto van haar vorige nest
in Mei van dit jaar!!!
Hey kids, shake it loose together
The spotlight's hitting something
That's been known to change the weather
We'll kill the fatted calf tonight
So stick around
You're gonna hear electric music
Solid walls of sound
chorus
Say, Candy and Ronnie, have you seen them yet
But they're so spaced out, B-B-B-Bennie and the Jets
Oh but they're weird and they're wonderful
Oh Bennie she's really keen
She's got electric boots a mohair suit
You know I read it in a magazine
B-B-B-Bennie and the Jets
Hey kids, plug into the faithless
Maybe they're blinded
But Bennie makes them ageless
We shall survive, let us take ourselves along
Where we fight our parents out in the streets
To find who's right and who's wrong
From the movie 27 Dresses
with Katherine Heigl.
~Gaudi
antoni-gaudi
Antoni Plàcid Guillem Gaudí i Cornet
was born 5 June 1852
and died 10 June 1926.. He was a Spanish architect
who worked during the Modernisme (Art Nouveau)
period but became famous for his unique and
highly individualistic designs regarded as beyond
the scope of Modernisme.
He is sometimes referred to, in English,
by the Spanish translation of his name,
Antonio Gaudí.
He studied at the Escola Superior d'Arquitectura
in Barcelona and designed his first major
commission for the Casa Vincens in Barcelona using
a Gothic Revival style that set a precedent
for his future work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Antoni Plàcid Guillem Gaudí i Cornet
werd geboren in Reus (Spanje) op 25 juni 1852
en is gestorven in Barcelona op 10 juni 1926,
Hij was een Spaanse architect.
Hij ontwierp rond 1900 een aantal markante
gebouwen en andere objecten in Barcelona en
daarbuiten, waarvan de Sagrada Família de bekendste is.
een kathedraal gebouwd in opdracht van
conservatieve katholieken. In 1914 besloot Gaudí,

Sagrada_Familia

He once said on the subject of gothic architecture:

Gothic art is imperfect, it means to solve;
it is the style of the compass, the formula of
industrial repetition. Its stability is based on the
permanent propping of abutments: it is a defective body
that holds with support… gothic works produce
maximum emotion when they are mutilated,
covered with ivy and illuminated by the moon.

  Over the course of his career, Gaudi developed
a sensuous, curving, almost surreal design style which
established him as the innovative leader of the
Spanish Art Nouveau movement. With little regard for
formal order, he juxtaposed unrelated systems and
altered established visual order.
Gaudi's characteristically warped form of Gothic
architecture drew admiration from other avant-garde artists.

~Sunday Girl

Florrie-SundayGirl
I know a girl
From a fantasy
A world of rainbows and mystery
Close your eyes
Sunday Girl

Hey, I saw your guy
Under the apple tree
He said hold tight and come with me
Run and fly
Sunday Girl

Hurry up
Hurry up and wait
Until the sun comes up
And breaks the day
Cherry trees
And honey bees
Won't you come and hide with me

She can catch up
With the fireflies
Dance across the blueberry skies
Live in dreams
Sunday Girl

Baby, meet me under the stars tonight
Think I've got something you might like
Come with me
Sunday Girl

Hey, I saw your guy
Under the apple tree
He said hold tight and come with me
Run and fly
Sunday Girl

Hurry up
Hurry up and wait
Until the sun comes up
And breaks the day
Cherry trees
And honey bees
In our world of make believe

Hurry up
Hurry up
Hurry up and wait

My sky is blue
Please please
Please come see
What you do to me
My sky is blue
My Sunday Girl

~Ladybug

ladybug-swarm
Coccinellidae is a family of beetles, known variously
as ladybirds or ladybugs (North America).
Scientists increasingly prefer the names ladybird beetles
or lady beetles, as these insects are neither birds nor bugs.
Lesser-used names include ladyclock, lady cow, and lady fly.

LittleLadybug

Coccinellids are small insects, ranging from
1 mm to 10 mm (0.04 to 0.4 inches), and are
commonly yellow, orange, or scarlet with small black
spots on their wing covers, with black legs,
head and antennae. A very large number of coccinellid
species are mostly, or entirely, black, grey, or brown
and may be difficult for non-entomologists to recognize
as coccinellids. Conversely, there are many small beetles
that are easily mistaken for coccinellids,
such as the tortoise beetles.

Most coccinellids are beneficial to gardeners in general,
as they feed on aphids, scale insects, mealybugs, and mites.

ladybugLadybugThe ladybird was immortalised in the still-popular
children's nursery rhyme Ladybird, Ladybird:

Ladybird, ladybird, fly away home
Your house is on fire and your children are gone
All except one, and that's Little Anne
For she has crept under the warming pan.

Most coccinellids overwinter as adults, aggregating
on the south sides of large objects such as trees or
houses during the winter months, dispersing in response to increasing day length in the spring.
In Harmonia axyridis, eggs hatch in 3–4 days from
clutches numbering from a few to several dozen.
Depending on resource availability, the larvae pass
through four instars over 10–14 days, after which
pupation occurs. After a teneral period of several days,
the adults become reproductively active and are able
to reproduce again, although they may become
reproductively quiescent if eclosing late in the season.
Total life span is 1–2 years on average.

~Dierendag/ Animal Day

World_Animal_Day_Logo wasbeer
Dierendag

in Londen.

   sheep and lambturtle
World Animal Day is celebrated each year on 4 October.
It started in Florence, Italy in 1930 at a convention
of ecologists. On this day, animal life in all its forms
is celebrated, and special events are planned on
locations all over the globe. 4 October was originally
chosen for World Animal Day because it is the
feast day of Francis of Assisi, a nature lover and
patron saint of animals and the environment.
Numerous churches throughout the world observe the
Sunday closest to 4 October with a Blessing for the Animals.
